About Jon Lewis Hoops Factory
The Jon Lewis Hoops Factory offers girls’ basketball camps and skill development opportunities on the campus of MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. The camps consist of half-day or full-day basketball activities offered Mon-Thursday, one week per month in June and July. Since its inception, over 1000+ campers have taken part in the Hoops Factory summer basketball camps. Jon Lewis, current Head Women’s basketball coach for MidAmerica Nazarene University, started the Hoops Factory in 2011. He teams up each year with his assistant coaches and current/past Pioneer players to provide a comprehensive basketball learning experience targeted towards young female athletes of varying age and skill levels who want to learn what it takes to be a successful basketball player.
The Hoops Factory helps players:
1. Develop better basketball skills through instruction and drills
2. Understand the concept of team play and the dynamics that determine a team’s success
3. Understand the nature of competition and how to compete ethically
4. Have fun through the game of basketball
The skill sessions prepared by the Hoops Factory coaching staff are age appropriate and differentiate based on ability. These sessions focus on the fundamental skills necessary to play the game of basketball and incorporate drills designed to improve the camper’s abilities.
We will have a daily camper checkout system. Campers will only be released direct guardians or other adults who have been approved. This list should include grandparents, babysitters, neighbors, carpools, etc. If the adult at pickup is not listed, your child will not be released from camp. Additionally, driver’s license will need to be shown at time of pick-up for validation. Your camper’s safety is important to us.
Parents and friends are welcome to observe Hoops Factory activities and games at any time during the session/week.
